Lagoon Valley Invitational Recap

The Raiders had a successful outing at the Lagoon Valley Invitational. This race is a tradition for Rio runners and is revered for it’s two challenging hills (Big Momma & Lil’ Sister). We entered over 80 athletes in this Invitational Meet and had many athletes set personal records! Senior Runner Sophia Karperos won the Girls Large School Varsity Divison anchoring our Girls Varsity team to second place overall.

As you likely witnessed, the coaches were extremely busy working with all the athletes; from making sure they got checked in for races, helping strategize for races, to calming anxious nerves. The coaching staff is extremely excited for the season ahead!
