Practice Schedule
With hot temperatures forecast on Monday and Tuesday it is possible practice will get canceled. Keep an eye on the Google Calendar or the riotrackxc.com Calendar, if the temperature is over 102 we will cancel practice. We will monitor the temperature and forecast each day and make a decision and update the calendar by 12:00 PM on whether we will cancel practice. If practice is canceled athletes should run indoors (treadmill at the gym) on their own.

SportsNet Athletic Clearance
We will be verifying all Athletic Clearances with the Athletic Director this week. Any athlete who is not cleared will be unable to participate in practices or competition. It is very important that athletes get their clearance ASAP! There is a new vendor handling sports clearances. You can find instructions on the clearance process here.
Oakmont Invitational
We will be competing in the Oakmont Invitational at Maidu Park on Saturday, August 31st. It is critical that all athletes that cannot compete inform Coach Anton via email at antonescay@hotmail.com no later than Monday, August 26th. We will be sending out a detailed communication Wednesday with race times and directions. The meet is scheduled to go from 8AM until 11:30AM with Varsity Races starting at 8AM.
All athletes must compete in uniform. If you did not order a uniform or have not received your uniform yet, please email Coach Anton your size and we will provide you with a uniform which must be returned at the end of the season.
Season Schedule
Our season schedule is available at athletic.net, which is the website where you can find out information about upcoming meets as well as competition results.
RAAB Membership Dues
If you haven’t already done so, please pay your RAAB dues as soon as possible. Dues are $110 per Athlete per sport, there is no longer a multi sport membership. Our goal is 100% membership participation! RAAB Membership Dues.
Rio Americano High School is only able to offer the LARGE RANGE of sports programs it does because of the financial assistance of our Sports Boosters. All programs here at Rio would experience cuts without RAAB funding. RAAB funds cover the cost of coaching stipends, athletic equipment, field and facility maintenance, uniforms and team specific needs just to mention a few places the money is spent. Donate NOW to ensure all 22 sport programs at Rio can continued to be offered.
Fundraising
We will have two fundraisers this year for Cross Country, Snap! Raise and Discount Card Sales. We’re kicking off our first fundraiser with Snap! Raise, on August 29, 2019. We ask that you help your student identify at least 20 people they will reach out to via email on Snap! Raise. The list of 20 emails should include many of your child’s biggest fans and needs to be completed in full to ensure our campaign is set up for success. It is my hope and expectation that each student will have a major impact on our program.
Our second fundraiser will be the sales of Discount Cards. RAAB is asking that all athletes sell 3 discount cards ($20/ea) to help fund athletics at Rio Americano. Cross Country will be working to sell 5 cards per athlete. The additional card sales will go toward funding Cross Country expenses which are not covered by the district or RAAB.
