New Athletic Field Improvement Project

SJUSD has given us an update on the timelines regarding the new athletic field improvement project. Here’s what they had to say…

The weather has not been kind to the construction process, but the team is still targeting mid-March if we can get Mother Nature to cooperate. The first two layers of the track surfacing are in place, and the final layer will require several dry days. After that, they will stripe the track and do some tune-ups and go through a “punch list” of small items to tighten up throughout. The restroom/concession stand will be ongoing after the field/track is turned over to the site for use.”

With the season fast approaching please make sure your athletic clearance is current! You will not be able to participate if you have not been cleared! If you have already participated in a sport this year you will need to stop by the Athletics office and ask the Athletics Secretary, Janet Cutler, to please activate you for Track & Field. If you are participating in athletics for the first time this school year, you will need to sign up on www.athleticclearance.com. You can find instructions on the clearance process here.
