Pacific Tiger Invitational Highlights
Our Varsity Boys team took 4th place overall with outstanding performances including a sub 16-minute 5K by Senior Connor Ettinger (only the second time that’s been done in Rio history!). Another standout performance was Sophomore Ermiyas Mamo who took 3rd place overall (out of 370 athletes) in the Large School Boys Frosh/Soph race. Junior Sophia Karperos continue her strong season with a 10th place finish (out of 274) in the Varsity Girls 5K race.
Congratulations to all our runners on a great day on the course, many of you set personal records out there!
Capital Cross Challenge (September 29th)
This is an exciting and fast race! A great experience for all runners to take in the atmosphere of a big race. There will be all levels from youth to college competing in this event. The meet will be held at the Arden Creek Cross Country Course (Haggin Oaks Golf Complex). The course is flat and mostly run on short grass which lends to fast times and many personal records. This site is the location of the 2018 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships. We will be sending out meet information by Thursday 9/27/18 with specifics including competition rosters and parking information. If your athlete can not compete at this event, please have them inform the coaches ASAP. It is important that we have an accurate competition roster as we must pay for each athlete we enter regardless if they run or not.
RAAB Membership Dues
If you haven’t already done so, please pay your RAAB dues as soon as possible. Dues are $75 per player for one sport, or $125 for the year for multiple sports. These dues are critical to the success of our Athletic Programs at Rio, paying for coaching stipends, operating expenses, uniforms etc. It’s a small amount to pay for all that our children receive from the sports programs.
