We had a great week of competition with three meets between Friday and Saturday!  We had several athletes set Personal Records at our Friday meets as well as at the Sacramento Meet of Champions.  The Season is starting to come to a close with The League Championship on Thursday May 10th and then Sections and Masters for the top athletes at the League Championship meet.  Rio has historically had a handful of athletes who make it to Masters and we are looking forward to great performances from all of our athletes at the League Championships this year.

Upcoming Meets

Thursday, May 10th we will have our Capital Athletic League Championship at El Camino Fundamental High School (4300 El Camino Ave., Sacramento, CA). This is a FULL TEAM meet which all athletes will be entered into at least one event.  We would like all athletes at El Camino High School by 2:45! This is the Final meet of the season for the majority of our Student Athletes!  The top finishers at this meet will move on to compete at the Section Finals. There is no school provided transportation for this meet, please coordinate transportation for your athlete. It is important athletes who cannot attend let their coaches know as far in advance as possible.

Communication

We understand that with our new communication platform and updated website, we are missing a place to share photos and highlights throughout the season(s). So, we created this closed Facebook group to do just that. We’d like to start with a closed group to help control the content and the audience who views it.

We also understand that not everyone is on Facebook, so please do not feel obligated to join as we’ll continue to use our weekly newsletter, REMIND, and website (riotrackxc.com) for program specific information and updates.

To get started, please visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/riotrackfieldxc/ from your mobile device or via the web and ask to join.

Go to http://eepurl.com/dhevp9 and sign up to be on our email communication list.

Additionally, you may visit https://www.remind.com/join/riotrackxc to add your email or cell number to the Remind contact list.

We will be using a weekly email as well as our website (https://riotrackxc.com/) for updates.

The Remind platform will be used for time sensitive communications.

Track & Field Banquet

We will have our 2018 Track & Field Banquet on Wednesday, May 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We are finalizing plans and will have more information next week.  For now, save the date!

RAAB Membership Dues

If you haven’t already done so, please pay your RAAB dues as soon as possible.  Dues are $75 per player for one sport, or $125 for the year for multiple sports.  These dues are critical to the success of our Athletic Programs at Rio, paying for coaching stipends, operating expenses, uniforms etc.  It’s a small amount to pay for all that our children receive from the sports programs.
