November 12, 2016 – Rio Americano freshman Sophia Karperos and junior Meghan Mahoney finished second and fourth in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 3 girls final, clocking 18:58.6 and 19:26.7 on the Willow Hills course to help the Raiders capture their fifth overall team championship and first since 1978 with a 52-57 victory over Vista del Lago.
October 21, 2016 – Rio Americano senior Noah Wallace won his Division 3 boys varsity race at the 69th Mt. SAC Invitational, covering the 2.93-mile course in 15:34.5, the fastest boys non-sweepstakes time Friday to lead his team to a 44-60 victory over Whitney of Rocklin.
October 15, 2016 – Rio Americano freshman Sophia Karperos placed fourth in the girls small school race at the Bella Vista Bronco Invitational, covering the 5-kilometer Willow Hills course in 19:08.7 to help her team finish fourth overall.
October 15, 2016 – Rio Americano senior Noah Wallace finished second in the boys small school race at the Bella Vista Bronco Invitational, covering the 5-kilometer Willow Hills course in 15:49.1 to lead his team to a 70-102 victory over Placer.
