Rio Track and Field Weekly Communication: February 23-29, 2020

Practice Schedule:

We will have practice during the President’s Week school break.

• M/TU/W – Rio Americano H.S. 3:15 – 5:00 p.m.
• TH – Rio Americano H.S. 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Coaches will continue to communicate practice times and changes to the athletes however, you can check riotrackxc.com for the current Track & Field calendar as well as any news updates. Additionally, if you use Google Calendars, you can add the Rio Track & Field calendar.

Rio Spring Sports Information Night

Rio Americano will be having its annual Spring Sports meeting on February 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Art Center (PAC). This meeting will cover general Rio sports info and then break out into a short meeting with individual teams. You will meet the coaching staff and we will be going over the basics of our Track and Field season and what to expect. The finalized season schedule will be distributed outlining which meets are for all athletes and which meets are invitational only. We look forward to seeing you there!

RAAB Membership Dues

If you haven’t already done so, please pay your RAAB dues as soon as possible, dues are $110 per player for one sport. These dues are critical to the success of our Athletic Programs at Rio, paying for coaching stipends, operating expenses, etc. It’s an important part of our programs for all the benefits it provides our children in Rio sports programs.

Upcoming Meets

Friday, February 28th – The 14th Annual SacTown Races at Whitney High School (701 Wildcat Blvd., Rocklin, CA). This is a Frosh / Soph Athlete meet. This will be an Early Dismissal Day for competing athletes as the meet starts at 3:30 p.m. Coaches will communicate with athletes to let them know what events they are participating in. There is no school provided transportation for this meet, please coordinate transportation for your athlete.

Saturday, February 29th – We will be hosting a dual meet scrimmage against Mira Loma at Rio Americano’s new Track & Field Facility. This will be a great opportunity for our athletes to get some race experience before the big meets of the season are upon us. The Scrimmage will begin at 9:30am with athletes arriving at 9am.
