Sac-Joaquin Sub-Section Meet Recap

The Rio Freshman Boys finished in 3rd place, The Varsity Girls finished in 2nd Place and the Rio Varsity Boys finished in 7th Place at the 2019 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Sub-Section Cross Country Meet (View race results) and qualified for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section/Les Schwab Tires Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Willow Hill Reservoir/Folsom High School.

Additionally, the following Raiders qualified as individuals:

• Junior Katie Hardwicke (Division 1/2 Girls JV race)
• Sophomore Josie Perez (Division 2 Girls Frosh/Soph race)

The top 7 runners from the above teams that qualified for the SJS Section meet will continue to practice and compete, for the majority of our Rio Raiders, the 2019 season has come to a close. It has been a fun-filled season and the coaches are proud of every one of our Student Athletes!

Practice Schedule

The following schedule ONLY applies to runners who have qualified for the Section Meet.

• Monday: 9:00 a.m. @ Bella Bru Cafe
• Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday: 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. @ Rio Americano H.S.
• Thursday: 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. @ Rio Americano H.S.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m. @ Willow Hills Reservoir

Sac-Joaquin Section Meet

The 2019 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section/Les Schwab Tires Cross Country Meet for Division I-II-III-IV-V will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Willow Hill Reservoir Cross Country Course adjacent to Folsom High School.

The race is scheduled as follows:

Park in the Prairie City Road parking lot near the football field. Do not park in the small lot near the course. Folsom High School will charge $5.00 per vehicle for parking. Also, do not park in the Treehouse Shopping Center across from the high school.

• Results will be provided by Redcap Timing.
• State Qualifying: Varsity boys and varsity girls will qualify 3 teams and 5 individuals not already qualified as a team.

A Message From The Team Captains

Our end of the year banquet will be on November 21. We want to acknowledge the hard work of all our coaches. Please help us do so by donating to help fund their gifts (suggested donations of $10-$20 per person). If you haven’t already given your donation to one of the team captains, please do so at school this coming week. Thanks for your support!

End of Season Banquet

Please join us for the XC End Of Season Party hosted by the Rio XC Coaches! This event will be held at Rio Americano in the Cafeteria on Thursday November 21st from 6:30pm to 9:00pm in the Rio Cafeteria.

Pizza and Cake will be provided. Please sign up to bring some extra goodies that are needed! There is also an option to write in something you’d like to bring if it is not listed, Thank you!
