The top 10 Varsity teams at Sub-section will qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section Meet, and the top 6 F/S & JV teams will qualify to advance to the Section Meet. We have 1 remaining meet in which all athletes will compete and then we are hopeful that we have a large group who qualify to advance to Sections. Go Raiders!
CAL Finals Meet Recap
The Rio Cross Country Team had a great day of racing at the CAL Finals! In a dominating display, our Frosh – Soph Boys took 1st place.
In a very close race, Frosh – Soph Girls having a tie score with Vista for the 1st five runners had to go to the tiebreaker 6th runner, and Raiders take 2nd. Great Job!
The Varsity Boys finished 2nd overall with an outstanding performance. Seniors Ross Gowan and Nic Gorman came in 1st and 2nd overall, making Ross Gowan the 2019 CAL League Boys Champion. The Varsity Boys finished in 2nd behind Vista.
The Varsity Girls took down super power Vista Del Lago to become the 2019 CAL League Champions! This was another close race with a top 5 tie score needing to go to the tie breaker. With Lucy Prieto digging deep and displacing Vista’s 5th runner, Rio secured the Championship!
All of our Raider Athletes have put in a lot of hard work and their commitment and positive attitude make us proud!
